Consultation

It is important that the surgeon meet with you for an initial consultation in order to evaluate your medical condition and your dental history. During this first visit, your maxillofacial surgeon will examine you and take the time to explain any necessary procedures, the recovery period as well as surgery related risks.

The surgeon will require the following information:
  • Your health status (list of medical problems)
  • List of prescribed or non prescribed drugs as well as natural health products with dosage.
  • A detailed history of current problems including pain if any.
  • All drug allergies that you may have
  • Recent x-rays: if x-rays were taken at your dentist’s office, please bring them to your appointment. This will limit consultation costs.

Our specialists will assess your level of anxiety towards the surgical procedure and discuss with you the advantages of intravenous sedation if necessary. This meeting should answer all of your questions and ensure that you are well prepared for your surgical appointment.

Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent for the first visit.

Payments & Dental Insurance

During the consultation our team will discuss with you the costs of surgery and give you an estimate to be submitted to your insurance company. This will allow you to know what portion of the treatment will be covered by your dental plan.
